How we look after your data.

Last updated 15 September 2026

Who we are

Ħolqa (also written holqa) is a Malta-focused link-in-bio product at holqa.com. It lets people and businesses publish one public page of links, a short bio, and locality. These pages are a starting policy for that product.

Until a formal operating entity is confirmed, you can reach us at [email protected]. We will update this page when company details change.

What this policy covers

This policy explains what we collect when you visit Ħolqa, create an account, edit a ħolqa, or view a public profile. It is written with Malta and the rest of the EU in mind, including the GDPR.

Using Ħolqa is also subject to our Terms of Service.

Information we collect

Account data. When you register we store the name and email address you provide, a hashed password, and security settings such as two-factor authentication or passkeys if you turn them on. Team invitations store an email address and the team they relate to.

Public profile data. A ħolqa can include a display name, username, bio, locality, social links, and the titles and URLs of links you choose to publish. That content is meant to be public.

Usage data. If you are signed in, we may keep first-party records of profile views and link clicks so you can see what lands. Those analytics are product features, not advertising trackers from other companies.

Technical data. Like most websites, our servers may receive your IP address, browser type, and similar request metadata needed to run and secure the service.

Cookies we use

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, protect forms from cross-site request forgery, and remember a few interface choices. Today that includes the session cookie, a CSRF token, an appearance preference, and a sidebar open/closed preference for the editor.

We do not currently set third-party advertising or analytics cookies. If we later add a product-analytics tool, we will update this page and, where required, ask before using non-essential cookies.

How we use information

We use this information to provide your account and public ħolqa, keep the service secure, send transactional email such as password resets and team invitations, show you first-party analytics, and improve the product.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use public profile content to build advertising profiles.

Public profiles and user-generated links

Anything you publish on a ħolqa can be seen by anyone with the link, and may be indexed by search engines. Do not publish personal data you are not comfortable sharing in public.

Links you add can point to other websites. Those destinations have their own privacy practices. Ħolqa is not responsible for what happens after someone leaves your page.

When we share information

We may share data with service providers who host the product, send email, or keep it running, and only as needed for those tasks. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect people from serious harm.

If the product is later operated by a formal company, or if that company is transferred, account and profile data would move with it under this policy or a successor policy.

How long we keep it

We keep account and profile data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymise personal data that is no longer needed, unless we must keep a limited record for security, billing, or legal reasons.

Public pages you delete stop being shown. Cached copies on other services may take time to disappear.

Your rights

If you are in Malta or elsewhere in the EEA or UK, you can ask to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to receive a copy of data you provided. Email [email protected] and we will respond as required by applicable law.

You can also complain to the Information and Data Protection Commissioner in Malta, or to your local supervisory authority.

Children

Ħolqa is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Where data is processed

We aim to host Ħolqa in the EU where practical. Some providers may process data outside the EEA. When that happens, we will rely on an appropriate safeguard such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Changes

If we change this policy in a material way, we will update the date above and, where the change is significant, try to notify account holders by email or an in-product notice.
